Grant-in-Aid for Transformative Research Areas (A) Analysis and synthesis of deep SHITSUKAN information in the real world

B01-2 Elucidation of the neural mechanism for Shitsukan-value translations

Takafumi Minamimoto National Institutes for Quantum and Radiological Science and Technology

The value of diverse sensory information depends on biological needs, learning and experience, environment, context, and emotion. Our research group aims to elucidate the brain mechanism of ecological value computation and its modulation, which constitutes the core of Deep Shitukan. Using monkeys that behave as human models, we will measure and decode of neural information about Shitsukan and value. We will also use the latest genetic neural manipulation technologies to investigate the causal role of brain activity in the value systems and the transformation systems. Our results will provide a deep understanding of the translation from real world to value.
