D01-4 Deep skin SHITSUKAN manipulation based on interoceptive sensations

Tetsuyou Watanabe Faculty of Frontier Engineering, Institute of Science and Engineering, Kanazawa University

The sensation that a person feels when he or she touches clothes is called skin feel. The interoception is a sense of the internal state of the body. The sensation of an increase in heart rate during excitement or a stomach ache are examples of such senses. Does the skin feel change depending on the state of the body? Does the interoception affect the skin feel? The first objective of this study is to elucidate this hypothesis. We will attempt to elucidate this by examining how skin feel changes according to the size of the disturbance in interoception. The second objective is to develop a method to manipulate skin feel in response to the interoception. By changing the temperature, humidity, friction, and stiffness of the fabric worn according to the state of the interoception, we aim to achieve a target skin feel such as comfort. We attempt to obtain the deep Shitsukan that “although people are different, the skin feel is the same”. We will approach the essential understanding of deep skin feel and its manipulation method from the viewpoint of interoception.
