D02-12 Chromaticity change due to dye concentration and color vision characteristics: spectral calculation and image analysis

How is color distributed on the surface of an object? It has been thought that even objects that appear to be uniform have a color distribution along in the lightness and saturation directions, with little hue variation. However, when we focus on transparent objects, we find that they have a unique distribution in the hue direction. In this study, we clarify the theoretical background of the optical phenomenon that causes hue shift through image and spectroscopic measurements. The theoretical background is the chromaticity change with dye concentration, and its reproducibility is verified by spectral simulation. Furthermore, by observing the reproduced color gradient as an image, we evaluate the impact of the hue change by psychometric evaluation of the color and texture.
